Weight-Watchers: Week 73
Where is weeks 71 and 72, I hear you ask? Amy and I were in Lake Texoma for 10 nights of camping and celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles. Thus, we missed our weekly meetings for two weeks in a row. This meant that whatever we showed on the scale was a cumulative effect of 3 weeks of being on (or off) program.
The entire time we were there, food was never in short supply. Thus, it meant being more wary of what we chose to eat and how much. I found myself rarely going back to the buffet line to get seconds. I also ate more veggies when they were available. However, I also indulged in the homemade cookies, the fish fry with hushpuppies, fudge and other delicious goodies. My breakfasts almost always incorporated a hot whole-grain food (grits {polenta to those across the pond}, oatmeal, groats, barley flakes and rolled wheat flakes) and whole-grain breads and fruit.
Also during this period, I did enjoy a few quick walks with another friend who maintains a speedy clip when doing her walks so it was a challenge to keep up. Combine that with the 50 yard walk to the bathhouse to shower or take care of business, you’ll find I did get more exercise this year during this trip.
So how does this all reflect on the scale? Well, each time you lose 5 pounds, the WW leader gives you a 5-pound star sticker to put on a bookmark to track your total loss. Tonight, she had to give me two stickers. I lost a 9.2 pounds! For a total loss of 41.2 pounds! With this large step of progress, I’ll have Amy take a few pictures to update the Weight Loss Tracker at the top of the page.
Now I just need to keep this going! I’m only 8.8 pounds away from 50 pounds! I will have achieved one of my LifeGoals!
