I called it a celebration dinner, but we normally eat out on WW meeting night because we weigh-in at about 6pm, go eat and then come back for the 7pm meeting. Since I was by myself and got there a little early, I attended the 5:30 meeting after weighing-in. Then it was still a dinner afterwards. I called it a celebration dinner because I had originally planned on just having leftovers at home.

The concept of a celebration dinner need not contradict the reason of the celebration. I choose to celebrate by having a healthy meal out. Sometimes a nicer healthy meal than would usually be had.

It's not a problem if going-out is the celebration and the food is still kept to the healthy side. One of our celebration dinners was to go to Applebee's and order from the WW menu. We usually prefer fastfood like Subway so going to a sit-down restaurant is like a celebration.

This week, I went to Chick-Fil-A and avoided having their wonderful waffle fries, fried chicken breast sandwiches and soda. Instead, the wrap had grilled chicken, I substituted baked tortilla chips for the fries and water instead of soda. When I celebrate, I intend on feeling just as good after the meal (i.e., not guilty) as I felt before.

Congratulations on kicking the sweets. Just one question. I've never understood the "celebration dinner" concept. Doesn't that put food into the category of reward? Isn't that part of the problem?
