Weigh-in: Year 3, Week 20
I feel like I just posted yesterday… and it was such good news and positive upbeat discussion of my short-term goals. And then I weigh in today before heading home to take care of my wife, process our farmer’s co-op portion, and run out for a few other groceries we needed.
Sigh.
A gain of 3.6?!!??!!
Then I remember what I had posted Sunday evening on Facebook:
Charles is just about ready for bed and it’s only 7pm! Good grief, yardwork really does a number on me (and being sick and out of shape and full of pizza don’t help).
- I had been sick… I didn’t each much (except when I was feeling better)… but I drank a lot of water.
- I had done yardwork on Sunday… I did 3 hours of raking and stuff… but I drank a lot of water and ate half a medium pizza.
- I did a 1 hour, 5 mile run yesterday morning… and drank a lot of water… ate some chicken pot pie, tater tots and rice at lunch and then had Wendy’s Buffalo Chicken sandwich with fries last night.
- Today I had not done a run (still quite sore from the run yesterday and the yardwork on Sunday and, yes, I know that means I was retaining water). I had oatmeal for breakfast… I drank a lot of water… had Jamba Juice for lunch… had a slice of veggie pizza and a small portion of pasta… and more water.
Am I just trying to come with the excuse that I was retaining a lot of water and that was the 3.6 gain? Sure, but I know there must be more. Including the fact that I dressed slightly warmer (read more clothing than has been the norm).
I dunno. I’m just gonna shut my eyes to this week and move on. I plan on getting in three runs each week until the 5K on Thanksgiving. I may be ready for the 10 mile or even a half-marathon by next Thanksgiving, but that is NOT one of my personal goals. Rather, the weight-loss and healthy living take priority over completing races.
Starting weight: 319.0 lb
Previous weight: 266.4 lb
Current weight: 270.0 lb
Current loss/gain: +3.6 lb
Total loss/gain: -49.0 lb
