Weigh-in: Week 106

Seems kinda weird to write “week 106″. It’s like a struggle that never ends. I wonder if I should change it to “Year 3, Week 2″. I might do that next week.

Well, I did try harder this week. However, that was only in comparison to the previous week, so it wasn’t anywhere near what I should be doing. However, I did lose this week and today was the last weigh-in to make my goal of 50 pounds lost by summer. I made it to 45 for this mile marker.

Now it’s time to make a new goal. I made the previous resolution in mid-January and I weighed 287.8. In that time period, I dropped to 274 pounds (as of today) with a total loss of 13.8 pounds in 5 months. That is about 0.7 pounds per week. I’m setting my new goal for Labor Day Weekend, ten weeks from today’s weigh-in. If I push myself to maintain this rate of loss, I could lose 7 pounds by then bringing my total loss to 52. However, I want to push myself harder, so I’m setting the goal for 55 pounds. One pound a week.

Why do I feel confident I can do this? Because of what I’ve accomplished this week. Monday and today, I upped my running from 20 min to 60 min or so. Yeah, I’m really feeling a solid workout for one hour and finishing up with soaked workout clothes. I’m running 3.8 miles (yeah, the math is easy, 3.8mph). This is the only thing I can credit at this point for my loss this week and I’ve only been doing it for two days.

We got our bi-weekly delivery from the farmer’s co-op and I look forward to cooking up some of this stuff (though we’re camping this weekend, which means this batch will last longer, except the fruit). I just made a light chicken and brown rice salad (with light mayo, salsa, sunflower seeds and raisins) for my next two days of lunch and fixed a light tuna salad for Amy. This takes care of our lunches for the week (as we are off Friday to go camping for the weekend).

And for those of you up north, the highs this week have been in the upper 90s and will probably carry on through the weekend. So we should sweat off a few more pounds that way.

Starting weight: 319.0 lb
Previous weight: 274.6 lb
Current weight: 274.0 lb
Current loss/gain: -0.6 lb
Total loss/gain: -45.0 lb
