Those Silly Democrats
Okay, so I’m not really one to lean one way or another in politics, but when San Francisco decides to put on the ballot a vote to name the sewage treatment plant after our President, I do have to speak up.
Their intention is to give him an “appropriate” memorial. However, just as with anything in politics, it can be twisted the other way. After all, you could say that it was to honor his ability to get #%$^! done or that he really knows how to clean up @#@$^.
Honestly, I can think of lots of other Presidents who are even more deserving of this type of honor, but never before have we sunk so low as to make such a public statement. It’s not freedom of speech, it is lack of civility on our part (and it doesn’t help that it was conceived by a bunch of alcoholics). It is we who are the losing party to this type of thumbing our nose at the system. It would seem the better choice would be to name NOTHING after him. No matter what, this gets him more fame, which is not what you want.
Don’t do this, San Francisco. Don’t make parents have to explain to their children why we would be so insulting to one of our Presidents that WE, as a nation, put in office. Of course, if you want to be known as a city with such a horrible sewer system that you name a bad president after it, then be my guest. At least you’ll get what you want.
