Just Craziness
Yesterday at about noon, Zale announced via the media that they were laying off 20% of their workforce at their headquarters office. This was before most employees were even aware that anything was happening. My wife, Amy, let me know about the news items and then kept me up-to-date with the goings on in her department until she stopped sending anything at around 2:30pm. About 30 minutes later, one of her co-workers called me to let me know that she had been laid off.
She’s now going through all the motions to get her paperwork in order and get ready to start interviewing for the first time in 8.5 years. It’ll be tough for her, but she was long overdue for a change of employers and this is finally the push to get something different and probably better.
