• I will probably skip doing any weekend updates as it just gets too crazy. I did have some sugar over the weekend, but nowhere near what I would normally have.

This morning, I got up and did a 5K run as Amy had fallen yesterday evening and was going to be too sore to do a workout today.

    Food:

    • Breakfast (8:00am) - reduced sugar maple brown-sugar oatmeal.
    • Snack (10:00am) - banana.
    • Lunch (12:15pm) - Sweet Tomatoes (nuf said… salads, unsweet tea, whole wheat bread, veggie soup, sugar-free chocolate mousse).
    • Snack (3:45pm) - apple.
    • Snack (4:15pm) - 1/4 cup masala (Indian spice) fried plantain chips (very spicy and no sweetness).
    • Dinner (6:45pm) - large wrap (turkey, fat-free cheese, lettuce, cucumbers, carrots, light mayo), 1/2 cup coleslaw, handful of Fritos w/ fat-free dip, 24oz skim milk, 1 piece dark chocolate, 1 serving unsweetened apple sauce, 100 cal pak of Chips Ahoy.

    Exercise:

    • 5:50am - 3.1 mile (5K) run in 36:54.36 for 693 calories burned and a max BPM of 153. It was high time I started back to doing just a 5K and see if I can meet some personal goals. My primary goal is to do it faster than my previous 5K run on 9/11/08. However, I did meet another personal goal this morning: an entire 5K run without walking. I’ll probably do some walking at the Turkey Trot because of getting a drink. It was about 45°F this morning and my Turkey Trot run may end up being warmer, so if I can pull this off in colder weather, I should do fine for the official run.

    State of Mind:

    • Content.  I managed to eat a fairly healthy dinner, I don’t feel overfull (from lunch or dinner), I restrained myself from hitting the cookie jar and the ice cream in the freezer, I did the dishes tonight (emptying the dishwasher, loading the dishwasher and handwashing everything else) and just caught up on the bills.

    Tomorrow:

    • I don’t really plan on working out tomorrow as I want to pace myself this week leading up to next week’s Turkey Trot.  I only discovered later today that I was only about 13 seconds over my 9/11 5K.  I’m sure I’ll do better with one of my best friends by my side and a little bit more energy in my stomach (I had done this morning’s run on empty; I did everything wrong in terms of fueling up beforehand and after as I didn’t even eat breakfast until an hour after my run).
    • I will also weigh-in tomorrow evening with the hopes (and full expectation) of losing this week.  Week One of my new Sugar Strike will be a success and only lead into another full week of the same.  I’m going to lose and I’m going to lose big.
