Daily Journey Entry

Posted by WebCudgel | No Comments

We overslept our alarms and instead of waking up at 5am, we woke up at 7am.  Thus, it was a mad scramble to get to work and exercise was out of the question (guess we may spend some time on the Wii Fit tonight).

Food:

  • Breakfast (7:30am) - Braum’s Egg/Cheese biscuit, hash browns, 20oz chocolate milk.
  • Lunch (11:30am) - Turkey ham salad sandwich on whole wheat w/ fat-free cheese (5pt), pretzels (2pt), string cheese (2pt), fat-free flan (2pt), small pear (1pt).
  • Snack (2:30pm) - torte (6pt).
  • Dinner (6:15pm) - 2 Hebrew National reduced fat beef hot dogs w/ low calorie buns (4pt), 1/2 cup vegetarian beans (2pt), handful of tortilla chips w/ dip (5pt), 2 bite size dark chocolate cherry Three Musketeers (1pt).
  • Snack (10:00pm) - WW dark chocolate raspberry snack bar (1pt), fat-free milk w/ 1 tbsp Starbuck’s mocha powder (3pt).

Exercise:

  • 9:15pm - (yes, P.M.) 3.1 mile (5K) run in 33:50.67 for 679 calories burned and a max BPM of 167 (+7 activity points). A very cool run (45ºF) and extremely quiet (more so than on Sunday’s run).  There was a thick fog and everything was mostly still when I took out the trash at 8:30pm.  I stood outside for about 10 minutes enjoying the stillness and realized, “I want to go running now.”  So I went back inside, changed clothes and went for a run while my wife worked on organizing the Pampered Chef order she received today.  I am SO glad I went.

State of Mind:

  • Very content.  I’ve had three very stressful days and I missed doing my run this morning.  When I finally decided to do one this evening, it just sorta hit me “why the heck not?”  It rarely occurs to me to go for a run in the evening and now that I went, I may do it more just because it is a great way to end the day (not just start one) and I know I’ll sleep much better tonight.  It was also a stress reliever for me, which I very much needed.  Oh, and running my best time ever kinda helps that feeling of contentment too.

Tomorrow:

  • I dunno… may still go do weights in the morning, but I think I’ll just relax and maybe get more work done in the morning instead.  We’ll see.
